Ronald Sexton's New Book "Red Devil Tales: A Son's Journey to Discover His Father's Legacy" is a Fantastic Tale of a Man Who Searches to Learn About His Father's Past.

Ronald Sexton, an ordained Baptist minister with a love of local history, has completed his most recent book “Red Devil Tales: A Son's Journey to Discover His Father's Legacy”:  a gripping story of a man who went on a quest to learn about his father’s past and came back with more than he could have ever imagined.

Published by Fulton Books, Ronald Sexton’s book begins when the author was only a small child.  Ron was only five years old when his father retired from coaching. He remembered very little of his dad’s life as one of North Carolina’s outstanding high school basketball coaches in the 1950s. Years after his father’s passing and after attending his father’s induction ceremony into Lenoir County’s Sports Hall of Fame, Ronald was determined to learn more about his father’s legacy as a basketball coach. He traveled from Louisiana to eastern North Carolina over a dozen times for several years interviewing former players and friends of his dad.

The result of his research is this book, Red Devil Tales, which is a compilation of many former players’ experience and portrait of Amos Sexton as their coach and mentor and the many stories of the great moments they all shared as athletes. Now in their late seventies, these former players still cherish the memories of their years as Kinston Red Devils.

Readers who wish to experience this lovingly curated work can purchase “Red Devil Tales: A Son's Journey to Discover His Father's Legacy” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
